Since opening for business in early 2024, Donington Auctions’ Sydney headquarters at Amaroo Park has seen an extraordinary eclectic selection of classic cars and motorcycles pass through the doors of a building steeped in motorsport history. From flame spitting monsters of the Edwardian era to quirky microcars of the Swinging Sixties, we have achieved some remarkable results over the past two years and continue to offer the finest collectible motor cars and bikes in a location that is a key part of Sydney’s motoring heritage.
Highlights include the sale of a number of significant pre-war cars, ranging from a Bugatti Type 37 that competed in numerous Australian Grand Prix events to the chain-driven M.A.B. powered by a 27-litre Liberty aero engine. We have unearthed numerous ‘barn finds’ that have remained hidden from view for decades, including an Alfa Romeo 6C 2500 Berlina in a remarkable state of preservation and the only Peel P-50 microcar in the country, both attracting strong bidding from local and international buyers.
Single owner collections remain a key focus and we were proud to present the hoard of predominantly Douglas motorcycles and associated parts from the Late Eric Bourn, achieving some remarkable prices. At the other end of the spectrum, we showcased a collection of stunning Italian and British bikes from a Queensland enthusiast in late 2024, with an ultra-rare 1973 MV Agusta 750S headlining the sale.
Donington Auctions have also become Australia’s leading auction house for Rare Parts, Memorabilia and Garagenalia, holding regular sales of single owner or mixed collections and continue to achieve strong prices across the board. Whether it’s scale models or spare parts stashed away in the garage, our themed auctions have proven hugely successful, bringing treasured items to a global audience.
Since being repurposed as Donington Auctions Sydney showroom, our historic building provides a unique setting, perfect for relaxed viewing of the cars and bikes coming up for sale. With ample parking and the Vanilla Cream cafe close at hand, we have hosted a number Cars & Coffee and club meetings and look forward to more events in the future. In addition to viewing days, we are open five days a week and encourage everyone to drop by and see what treasures may be coming up - you just never know what might be inside! Our expert staff Damien Duigan and Sam Jackson are always on hand to offer appraisals and advice on how to achieve the best result for your cherished classic car, motorcycle or memorabilia. For further information and details of upcoming sales please see the website or give either Damien or Sam a call.
