If you would like to contribute, we're keen for Amaroo Park memories, anecdotes, photographs, videos, or any other historic info.

If you' took photos at Amaroo, and have negatives, slides, or film you'd like to contribute, we'll convert them to high resolution digital files for you by way of thanks.

If you were a spectator, competitor, official, employee, tenant or sponsor we’d love to hear from you. There are lot of photos and documents sitting in albums and shoeboxes that haven’t seen the light of day for years, and we’d hate to see those little pieces of history eventually lost.

In terms of photos, the subject matter that’s interesting now is often the stuff that wasn’t so interesting back in the day…..not necessarily the usual pics of the cars and bikes during the major events, but the incidental location shots of the kiosks, spectators on the rocks, and minor events like trials, motorkhanas, enduro cross etc

A number of companies and organisations used Amaroo for various purposes over the years for location shoots, events, product launches, testing, courses etc  If you, or anyone you know, was involved with any of these companies or organisations back in the 60’s and 70’s, and has something to share, get in touch. The list isn’t exhaustive, and during the 80’s and 90’s there were a lot of others that used Amaroo for various purposes……

The Last Amaroo and Goodbye Amaroo

The enthusiastic souvenir collecting at these final meetings in 1998 is a somewhat legendary part of Amaroo’s history ….and in hindsight, resulted in the rescue a lot of memorabilia that otherwise would have ended up in landfill. There are various photos on social media of some of the signs in man caves and sheds, but we’vd love to see what else survived. Fear not, the statute of limitations has passed for these little misdemeanours and we were guilty too, so send us your photos and stories.
