By 1962, the 2ΒΌ mile Grand Prix circuit had been formed and was ready for sealing, but it never progressed beyond that point. Ray Bell gives a good account of driving around it in his old Holden
The southern end of the lower straight running through the gully, passes though todays Amaroo Park, with road base and alignment still visible. Standing there and looking up at the rocks that formed the proposed spectator's area, makes one ponder what might have been, and brings back memories of the atmosphere of the Amaroo.
